Affiliate marketing is so popular that almost everyone knows what it is.
For those who missed something: An affiliate program is simply a program in which a business rewards affiliates for each visitor (pay per click) and/or sign up (pay per lead) and/or customer (pay per sale) brought by these affiliates. In other words you sign up for an affiliate program, promote their product/service and earn commissions by selling it.
Have you ever been asked where you bought something? Or have you ever been asked what you thought of something you bought?
Well, an affiliate is someone who answer these questions. But the best… He/She gets paid for it.
It sounds so simple and easy that it makes a wrong impression making money as affiliate is also easy. Actually it’s harder than you think. Only 1-5% of (so-called) affiliate marketers have ever received an affiliate check.
What happened to the others?
Hmm, let me ask you a question. Do you know any other business where you can start with only a few dollars? And it’s only for the domain name, hosting and website. Participation is free for the biggest affiliate networks – and you have access to thousands of products.
Well, most of these marketers are beginners. Everyone has heard about those successful newbies who made tens of thousands of dollars in their first month. Yes, of course they did… They just bought a great e-book 
Most of the beginners want quick results. Just posting some banners on their site/blog and waiting for the checks. No hundreds/thousands of dollars after weeks? – They give it up.
Successful affiliate business is built upon a lot of smaller elements, but every mistake – even the smallest one – comes with lost affiliate commission.
It doesn’t really matter if the communication with your visitors is not effective or you are doing something wrong with your website’s SEO. If you can’t convert your traffic into sales and can’t turn your visitors into dollars, you will never see those affiliate checks.
